Good to know
Privacy
In short: Huurindex has no account, no database and no cookies. What you enter doesn't leave your device, unless you share a link yourself.
Your calculation
The calculator works entirely in your browser. Amounts, dates and labels are in the page's address (after the question mark), so you can share the calculation with a link. That way they end up in your browser history. When you or someone else opens such a link, the hosting server sees that address, as with any web page.
Names and addresses in the letter
What you enter for the indexation letter stays in the tab. It doesn't go into the link, isn't stored and disappears when you close the tab. Copy or print the letter before closing it.
What isn't there
No account, no e-mail address, no cookies, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. The fonts are on our own server. Your choice of light or dark and your reading comfort settings are in your browser's local storage; they are not cookies and don't leave your device.
Hosting
The website is served through Vercel, an American company acting as our processor. Like any web server, Vercel sees technical data such as your IP address, your browser type and the requested address, and keeps them briefly in server logs to keep the site safe and available. This rests on our legitimate interest; transfers outside Europe happen with the safeguards the GDPR requires.
Your rights
For the hosting's technical data you can contact us for access, correction, erasure, restriction or objection. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
